I HAVE RECEIVED A MESSAGE OF RESIGNATION FROM TONY NOLAN OUR FIRST TEAM MANAGER.

I SPOKE TO HIM AND HE EMOTIONALLY DETAILED HIS SADNESS TO TAKE THIS DECISION, BUT FELT IT WAS THE RIGHT TIME FOR HIM TO MOVE OUT OF THE ROLE.

I RELUCTANTLEY ACCEPTED HIS RESIGNATION AND THANKED HIM FOR HIS TERRIFIC PERIOD IN CHARGE OF THE SIDE. OUR TROPHY HAUL OF WIDNES CUPS, GUARDIAN AND WALTON CUPS, WARRINGTON PREMIER DIVISION AND SEVERAL PROMOTIONS IS REALLY OUTSTANDING UNDER TONY'S LEADERSHIP.

I AM SURE HE KNOWS THAT THIS IS THE RIGHT MOVE FOR HIMSELF AND WE ALL AT HALEBANK FC WISH HIM ALL THE BEST FOR THE FUTURE.

THANKS TONY

 HALEBANK 2 - 1 VULCAN FC

A SUPERB COMEBACK FROM HALEBANK SAW THEM TAKE THE WALTON CUP FROM LONG TIME LEADERS VULCAN IN THE LAST 20 MINS WHEN HALEBANK SCORED TWICE, THE SECOND A PENALTY TO CLINCH THEIR FIRST CHESHIRE LEAGUE TROPHY.

WITH THE OPPOSITIONS SUPPORTERS ALREADY CELEBRATING WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS A VICTORY, HALEBANK QUIETEND THE CROWD WITH A STORMING FINISH TO THE GAME, THOUGH IT HAS TO BE SAID SOME GREAT DEFENDING KEPT HALEBANK IN THE GAME WHEN UNDER A LOT OF EARLY PRESSURE. LEE MARSHALL DOMINATING EVERYTHING IN THE AIR.

VULCAN DESERVED THEIR HALF TIME LEAD. BUT TONY NOLANS TEAMTALK CERTAINLY WORKED, AS HALEBANK STEPPED UP THEIR GAME AND GRADUALLY GAINED THE UPPERHAND, WITH A GOAL FROM LEE MARSHALL AND A LATE BILLY WEBB PENALTY CLINCHING THE TROPHY.

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED AND A WELL DESERVED VICTORY.

ESPECIALLY PLEASING AS WE CELEBRATE OUR 50TH YEAR "THANKS BOYS YOU DID US PROUD!!"

SEARCHING FOR AN OLD FARMERS DRAIN WITH NO SUCCESS, WATER WITH BLUE DYE IN IT HOPEFULLY WILL DRAIN TO OUTFALL.
GROUND WAS LIKE CONCRETE AND CLAY ONLY ABOUT 18 INCHES DOWN.

Slide1.JPG

IMG596.JPG

THOUGH ONLY CLEARED THE DAY BEFORE, THE PIT HAD FILLED OVERNIGHT. CLEARLY WE NEED A BETTER DRAINAGE SYSTEM TO TAKE WATER AWAY FROM THE PLAYINGFIELD

346.JPG

Large part of the ditch cleared as requested by HBC.

Found a few golf balls and a old match ball in the long grass.

346.JPG

Outfall drainage point cleared and pit dug, thanks Tony seems to be working much better.

PITCH PROBLEM

YOU WILL BE AWARE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY POSTPONED GAMES LATELY CAUSING A BACKLOG OF FIXTURES, THIS IS PARTLY DUE TO THE HEAVY RAINFALL AND A PROBABLE FAILURE OF THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM ON THE PITCH.

WE HAVE TAKEN BIG STEPS TO TRY AND ADDRESS TWO PROBLEMS. OUR RESERVES ARE PLAYING HOME GAMES AT LEIGH REC UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON. ( THIS IS BECAUSE THE CHESHIRE LEAGUE WILL NOT ALLOW  US TO PLAY FIRST TEAM GAMES AWAY FROM OUR OWN VENUE AND 14 HOME GAMES ARE NOT LIKLEY TO BE FITTED IN BY THE SEASON END.)

1, PITCH PROBLEMS :-

WE HAD AND INVESTIGATION INTO THE PITCH AND FOUND THAT DRAINAGE COULD BE MUCH BETTER, THE DITCH THAT RUNS ALONG THE HEDGES TOUCH LINE NEEDS CLEARING, (HBC HAVE STRIPPED AWAY THE BUSHES TO ALLOW ACESS IN TO THE DITCH FOR US TO DIG IT OUT) ALL HELP WILL BE GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED AS THE DITCH AT THE CLAPGATE CRESCENT END IS OUR FIRST TARGET TO START THE TASK.

THIS DITCH HAS AN OUT FALL IN IT, THE DRAIN LINE INTO IT FROM THE PITCH IS PART BLOCKED WITH SLUDGE AND ROOTS AND NEEDS POWER JETTING CLEAN, (ANYONE KNOW WHERE WE CAN FIND A INDUSTRIAL JET WASHER FOR THIS TASK ?) THEN WE CAN TELL IF FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS ARE REQUIRED, I.E. CAMERA INSPECTION OF THE PITCH DRAIN LINES THAT ARE VERY OLD AND COULD BE BLOCKED/FAILED TOO.

2.PITCH ASSESSMENT

WE HAVE WITH HALTON BOROUGH COUNCILS HELP, TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF A PITCH ASSESSMENT THAT IS FUNDED BY THE LIVERPOOL COUNTY FA. A COMPANY WILL ASSESS THE PITCH SEE WHAT IT NEEDS AND OVER A PERIOD OF TIME HELP US WITH IMPROVEMENTS ( NOT CLEAR YET WHAT IS ENTAILED, BUT ALL HELP IS GOOD.) SO YOU SEE WE HAVE PLANS IN PLACE TO IMPROVE THE FACILITIES EVEN FURTHER.

MONEY OWED TO THE CLUB   Oct 16

We at Halebank FC will endeavour to recoup all debts owed to the club by players who leave owing money. We have done so many times in the past.

It is appreciated by Halebank FC if the new club a player goes to, are helpful in making arrangements to ensure the owed money is repaid (as we do !)

That unfortunately is not always the case and some clubs incorrectly inform players they do not need to repay monies owed at all.

We then have no other option that to put it in the hands of Liverpool CFA, who will act on our behalf to ensure all eligible fines are recovered by the club, with an extra charge for their time and effort.

We will take any further steps we can ( even the small claims court if required )  to recover owed money from players that refuse to repay us.

We pay the charges incurred by all players and they in turn MUST repay us. .

Phil Sheridan Chairman.

Here we see four very proud men, Tony Nolan, Phil Sheridan, Jamie Unwin & Bob Whitley. As we were presented with the prestigious Halton Sports Awards "Team of the Year" prize and Tony also deservedly took the "Coach of the year" award.

A superb night for all involved at the club and its great to be recognised for the success we have enjoyed over the last few seasons. A massive night for all our players, sponsors and supporters too, without your help and  support we could not do this. Thanks to the organisers of the Halton Sports event and Widnes forum for nominating us.

            Loss of a Legend

Halebank Football Club is deeply sad to announce the loss off one of our senior members Derek Whitley. Derek was a key Life member and treasurer of our club for over 40years and one of our founding fathers.

We extend our deepest sympathy and heart felt condolences to Derek's family and friends. You are all in our thoughts!. He will be missed.

derekmontage.jpg

A montage of Derek's time with the club from team pictures, Presentations and Warrington Premier Division winning nights, Derek was a very important member of our club. When we were in need Derek always had the answer, his network of friends and business contacts meant he always had a solution to the clubs needs.

It is impossible to put into words what this man meant to Halebank FC ! or what Halebank FC meant to him, a true legend

CONGRATULATIONS TONY !!!

tonynolan2.jpg

Congratulations to Tony Nolan for being awarded the Hallmark Cheshire League Manager of the month for May. It is a well deserved award as with the massive backlog of fixtures 7 league games in a month we won 6 of them.

Superb finish to a somewhat frustrating season due to the weather. Terrific effort from all involved Tony, Jamie Unwin, Billy Knowles and all of the squad involved in the final run in of fixtures that climaxed with that 14-1 win in the last game..

Halebank FC with Warrington Premier League Trophy from 2014-15, Guardian Cup winners 2015-16 and Widnes Cup winners 2016.

What a fantastic haul of silverware.
